Your new job

We are looking for 1 chef for Kålgårdsskolan, which has a primary school for grades F-6 and an adapted primary school for grades F-6.

You will be part of a team of 6 employees where food is prepared from scratch. You will report to the area manager and the head chef who leads and distributes the daily work on site.

Examples of job tasks:

Serve delicious and well-prepared food to the kitchen's young guests.
Cook meals from scratch according to current guidelines for breakfast, lunch, and snacks.
Create meals that are healthy, environmentally sustainable, and flavorful for children and youth.
Plan menus and order necessary supplies.
Be a good ambassador for the kitchen by involving students in the meals.
Integrate meals into both children's and students' learning and development.
Have the opportunity to influence young people's eating habits and health for a healthy life.
Work independently or as part of a kitchen team consisting of chefs and kitchen assistants to prepare food for the school.
Other tasks as required in a kitchen.

As an employee in Jönköping Municipality's meal organization, you belong to a geographical area that includes several kitchens. You have a primary placement in one kitchen where you usually work. When circumstances change and the situation requires it, you may need to step in at other kitchens apart from your primary placement.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a passion for cooking and a strong desire to prepare nutritious and flavorful meals from scratch, focusing on high-quality and sustainable ingredients. The food we serve should be both delicious and nutritious, and we place great importance on being able to adapt meals to children's individual needs.

As a person, you are a team player who enjoys collaborating with a larger kitchen team. You are accustomed to working in cooperation with educators to create a safe and pleasant dining environment. You are happy to share your knowledge and joy of work, and you actively contribute to good cooperation in the kitchen.

We are looking for someone who can work within given guidelines but is also passionate about developing and improving our meal organization. You see opportunities for improvements, take initiative, and contribute to enhancing both work processes and the quality of food.

Other qualifications for the position:

Completed chef training.
Self-sufficient and able to work independently.
Good knowledge of special diets and allergens.
Good ability to communicate with children and educators.
Experience from large kitchens or similar is an advantage.
Very good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
Basic IT skills.
